OK you have, made the biggest purchase of your life and you have bought your dream home but now you are having second thoughts and doubting the wisdom of your decision. This state is known as buyer’s remorse and you need to change it!
You Will Need:
- To get rid of all the agents ‘ publicity listings you accumulated prior to buying the house. Have a
- bonfire and watch them go up in smoke.
- To stop looking at other property and comparing it to your own.
- To start learning to appreciate what you have.
- A legal pad and pen
- A color chart
- Paint
- Paint rollers and brushes
- Lots of creativity
Step 1
Take your legal pad and walk round your new home listing all of its positive features. This will shift your emotional state from negative to positive.
Step 2
Now list all those good things that came together to let you purchase the house. Gratitude is a wonderful gift so say thank-you, thank-you, and thank-you! You got the house, some other people wanted it but you got it!
Step 3
Start putting your stamp on your new home. Get a color chart and start deciding how you would like to redecorate, so the home reflects your taste and not somebody else’s.
Step 4
Start re-decorating the house. This will encourage the growth of a bond of affinity.
Step 5
Maybe you would like to remodel some feature of the place, like put in a new kitchen. Go ahead and do it, but be sure you can afford this added expense.
Step 6
If the property has a garden or yard get some plants and get to work making it look as you want it to.
Step 7
All those “neighsayers” who have been making you feel negative about your purchase, should be pushed to the outer corners of your life. This is their stuff. It is not yours and do you need people around who pull you down all the time?
Step 8
Now you have made an energetic investment in your new home and should be feeling a whole lot better!
