Internet banking is becoming more and more popular as the younger generations grow up.  Online banking can save you time and money but  it can also create trouble if you aren’t careful.  Follow these steps to a safer and worry free online banking experience.

Step 1

Most online banks now force you to pick three questions and have answers for all three of them.  Every time you login, one of the three questions will show up before you can enter your account.  I know it gets annoying but it’s there to protect you.  Don’t have that option with your online bank?  Simply ask for one because they just might have it as an optional feature.

Step 2

Never click on the “remember my password” box on any computer including your own.  Is the four seconds it takes to type in your password really that bad? Another little tip is to make sure that you login onto a secured website.  You banks website should always have a security guarantee or security policy.

Step 3

Never login to your online banking account using a link from a website that isn’t your banks website or an e-mail.

Step 4

Never give up any of your information or reply to any e-mails asking you about your accounts or passwords.  You are better off to call the bank just to make sure if your bank seemed to of sent you a password error e-mail.

Step 5

Probably the most important step is to make sure that your computer has the latest anti virus on it to protect you from spyware and viruses.
