Paying bank fees late means penalties. Life is very hectic these days and people can forget many things no matter how important some things are. To avoid late bank fees, here are a few things that you can do:
Step 1
Read the banks payment policy. Find out when you should pay and what is considered an on time payment. Some banks provide little details for day payment and time for credit cards.
Step 2
Get a calendar. Post the calendar in a place that you can always see it so that you’ll be reminded when the time comes. When you receive your bill, immediately indicate the deadline for payment on your calendar. You can color code it or simply write ‘credit card deadline’. Sometimes, its not enough to use a calendar, you can set your computer or your PDA to remind you to pay your credit card bills. To be safe, tell somebody in your household to remind of you to pay your bills.
Step 3
If you have time to go to the bank before the deadline, there is no sense in waiting for the deadline to arrive, you can immediately go to the bank and pay your credit card. There is no point in waiting for the deadline to arrive since you’ll still be paying the same amount. If you delay payment, you might actually forget to pay and be penalized instead. You can pay the minimum if you cant pay in full.
Step 4
You can talk to your bank and request them to change the deadline. Set the deadline a few days after or on the day you receive your paycheck. That way, you’ll always have cash to pay your bills on time. Just remember to go to the bank and pay them when the time comes.
Step 5
Sometimes, you might have the money but you don’t have the time, you can pay bills online! Find the website. Read the instructions. Sign up. There are automatic payment options, you don’t have to remember any date as long as you have enough funds because of automatic payment.
Step 6
Despite putting a calendar on the wall and you find that the internet is not appealing, try paying by phone. Call the credit card’s toll free numbers. Give them your check number, consider your credit card bill good as paid and the check good as used. You can’t use that particular check anymore.
In case you remembered to pay your credit card bills at the last minute, there are several quick ways to pay your credit cards. So, you might remember the correct deadline when it comes to paying your credit card statement, it will be ironic if you don’t have enough money to pay that credit card bill. Pay the minimum at least. After that, be sure to carefully track down your expenses and leave enough balance to pay your bills and a leeway for emergency and miscellaneous expenses. Never forget deadlines to avoid fees for late payment.
