Cheap air fares are not hard to find if you are just willing to be a little picky, very curious and always alert for deals. There are lots of ways that you can cut some dollars off the cost of your next flight. Remember the keyword here is …PATIENCE.

First, to get a good deal on cheap air fare you need to be the early bird to get the bite on the best prices, so watch out for Saturday morning price runs. It has been discovered that if you are looking for a cheap air fare your best time to actually find one advertised is Saturday morning. There is much speculation as to why this is, but no one seems to actually know the answer. Let’s just consider this a bonus for the clever. Hop on that computer and log in next Saturday when you get up and try to find a cheap air fare for yourself.

Second, for a really good cheap air fare price, you need to know one of them is around, so consider signing up for an early warning signal. You can sign up for a notification service offered by such sites as Dingfares, Deal Finder or Frontier Airlines. These will all notify you with a nice little sound and/or pop-up when a cheap air fare comes along, one that has gone even lower than the prices already on their sites. This is a handy service that is free and you don’t have to keep checking to see if the cheaper price has been listed, these services are johnny on the spot and they will always bring the latest and cheapest air fares to you.

Third, you can always use those huge search sites such as Orbitz, Kayak or Price line to do the searching for you. They will pull up the cheap air fares of the day and then offer you a multitude of options for your convenience. At Price line you always have the extra opportunity of snagging that cheap air fare and driving the price down even further by naming your own price and you may then come up with an exceptional bargain.

Fourth, you can wrap up a cheap air fare by checking the package deals offered all over the web. There can be some substantial dollar savings by combining the air fare with a hotel. Take this one step further and combine these two with a car for another cheap air fare discount. Some hotels and some travel sites have some spectacular deals for you if you can combine your needs into one package and voila you luck up with a really cheap air fare.

Fifth, look into special fares for a good shot at lassoing some cheap air fare, there are some sites that are devoted strictly to last minute goodies. This allows you very little room for flexibility as the times and tickets are set in stone, but the cheap air fare you will find here will more than make up for that. If your primary goal is a cheap air fare then you will find some great deals on these sites, but you have to be prepared to travel when the ticket says “Go”.
