List Making - Common Items to Buy on Sale
If you're new here and would like to be notified the next time I write something, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for Reading!
When I first started out, I would buy my common bathroom, kitchen or cleaning products when I ran out. Now I keep extras on hand allowing me to buy most of my favorite products on sale. My girlfriend and I are very picky about certain items so we stockpile on the specific items and keep a small inventory of the generic ones. When making your list, always cover the basics and then go into more detail as time goes on. You can make your list with pen and ink in a book or you can do what I do and make it with Microsoft Excel. Your list should have three columns, one stating the item, the second stating what brand and the third stating the common sale price of the item.
Here is small sample Bathroom list that I’ve memorized over time (since prices differ all over the country, I left the prices out):
Shampoo - Pantene Pro-V, Herbal Essence
Conditioner - Pantene Pro-V
Toothpaste - No preference
Toilet Paper - Charmin Ultra (pay no more than 15 cents a role)
Deoderant - Old Spice, Lady Speed stick Rasberry
Q-tips - Generic
Cologne/Perfume - Polo Sport, Gucci (any)
Floss - Generic
Mouth Wash - Generic
Razors - Gilette pink with 4 blades
Baby Powder - Generic
Soap - Dove (no more than $0.75 a bar) or else Generic
Hand Soap - Generic
Bodywash - Dove
Cold Medecine - Bucleys
Pain Killers - Advil
