In today’s world everyone knows that baby’s seem to cost a lot of money not only preparing for the baby but each month there is an added expense which at times can become very costly. Now don’t get me wrong I love my kids but they are very expensive little creatures. Here are a few ways that you can save money on your monthly bills when it comes to your little ones needs.

Stock up before the baby comes

This has got to be a given but it is so important that I wanted to mention it to any pregnant parents who are already worrying about the new cost a baby will bring. Below you will see several tips that will help to cut the cost of baby items but these are also tips you need to use to be able to stock up on things. Don’t worry if you buy too many packages of a certain size of diapers just don’t open every pack. Stores are more than happy to exchange an unopened package of diapers for the correct size. Don’t stock up very much on formula only because some babies have tummies that can’t handle a certain brand. If you are going to purchase any formula make sure it is only a can or two just in case.

Saving on Baby formula

As many people know there are only a handful of formula companies that sell name brands and then there is always the store brand. The main companies are Similac, Enfamil and Nestle’s Good Start. All of the companies have baby clubs that when you join they will start to send you samples and formula checks that can be used to purchase formula. You will want to sign up early for these programs as it takes about 2-3 months before the samples and checks start coming in. Make sure to sign up all the grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends you know too so they can receive the samples and checks for you.

Saving money on Diapers and wipes

The best tip here is to watch your sales. Store sales will usually cycle in 6-8 week blocks. This means that usually what is on sale this week will be on sale again in 6-8 weeks. The key is to find a sale that is a good sale and stock up enough diapers or wipes to last until the next sale. Make sure to also check your Sunday news paper for coupons to combined with the sales.

Babies are expensive but with a little planning and a little strategy you can lower that cost!
