I am not going to go on a rant to tell you to quit smoking. I’ve never smoked but I know that it’s extremely difficult to stop and the only person that can really help you is YOU.
The calculator will only show how much you’d save on the actual cigarettes if you decided to quit now. But most smokers don’t calculate all the added expenses to smoking such as…
- Smokers pay more for insurance
- They lose money on the resale value of their cars
- They lose money on the resale value of their homes.
- They spend extra on dry cleaning
- They spend extra on teeth cleaning.
- In the long run, they earn less and receive less in pension and Social Security benefits
MSN Money has a great article on The high cost of smoking. I suggest you take a look because it has some very interesting facts. People are actually losing their jobs because of it and some employers are more likely to hire a non smoker than a smoker.
