Men and women have always had a difference of opinion in almost all the aspects of life. Money is one such topic on which there can be very heated arguments between the two sections of the society. They both have their own point of views but there are some things which men always wish that women knew.
10 such things that men wish women knew about money are:
1. Men are not perfect and they do not know everything in the world. It is very difficult for men to accept the fact that they do not know certain things in life. They have been brought up in a manner where they are responsible for the family and money matters, but it is not necessary that they know it all.
2. Men do not like to talk about their financial plans and financial status in front of others. It is no big deal for the women to talk about their financial plans with their friends, but men like to keep such topics in private only.
3. Men can be of two types- the spenders and the savers. It is not true that men are only money savers. They do try to save money because their upbringing has taught them to take care of their family, plan their retirement, plan their children’s studies etc.
4. One thing that this sex does not like at all is when their partner tries to mix money matters with their physical closeness. They are already quite aware of their responsibilities and are trying to save money and make bank but if their partner tries to withdraw from them at that state, they can get really upset.
5. There is a fear of being considered weak. Men always hesitate to ask for help in all spheres of life, especially the financial aspect. They may not know much about the right money policies and investments, but they have a fear that if they ask for help, the women in their life will consider them as weak.
6. Men also do not like to be economical all the time. They also love to go on holidays and take their wives shopping, but they have other financial responsibilities also. They have to strike a balance between the short term enjoyment and long term comfort.
7. Fear of not having sufficient funds at the time of retirement is always bothering men. That is a major reason why they try to be more economical in the present.
8. Fear of losing respect of being a responsible care taker is another issue that worries men.
9. Men do not understand the worth of diamonds. Money is better in the bank is what they feel where women find diamond a great way to invest money.
10. One more thing that almost all men wish women knew is the word ‘investment’.
So ladies, take note of these things. I’m sure then man in your life will thank you for it!

I stumbled on this post from the Festival of Frugality and I had to stop to say something. It’s completely stereotypical and chauvinistic.
1 - No one is perfect, and it seems as if very few people really know what they’re doing with their finances.
2 - I’ll give you this one, but in general people are uptight about talking money.
3 - I’ve known more spenders than savers of the male persuasion, but I’ve seen plenty of both savers and spenders of either sex.
4 - This is poorly stated, and has more to do with relationships than money. This is also a stereotypical view that women withhold physical acts to ‘punish’ their husbands for some action. Men can do the same and either way it’s an immature reaction.
5 - I’ll give you this one too. Men are bad at asking for help.
6 - No one likes being economical all the time. It gets old. Some women even *gasp* treat their husbands on occasion.
7 - Funny, most people don’t seem very worried at all, but some are and they are both men and women.
8 - This is rather outdated. While many men do still support their wives, most marriages now have two earners in the family.
9 - Who thinks of diamonds as an investment? Unless you’re talking investing in a relationship. Even so, not all women even like diamonds, and many would agree that money in the bank is better.
10 - I’m not sure I should even dignify this with a response. However, I will simply say that I am a woman and I do know what an investment is. Would you like to see my portfolio?
What I got out of this is that women are air heads who want nothing but new clothes and diamonds while the men work so hard to plan for retirement and support their wives. As a woman with a financial plan for the next five years, an emergency fund, and an investment portfolio, I found this post completely insulting. I’m also completely convinced that you’ve never met my father.
