We all know the fun of an amusement park and we all know how expensive this fun can be. Let’s look at how we can continue to have this excitement and fun while we are saving money at an amusement park. I knew that would get your attention. Today the thought of going to an amusement park and yet saving money at the same time just seem to be poles apart. Hold on to your hat while I give you some great ideas.
If you can plan your outing for the weekdays, you are on your way to saving money at an amusement park. Almost every amusement park in existence has a big price difference between their weekday ticket prices and those on weekends and this saves money. Simple fact of the matter is that the weekends are the bonanza days for crowds. This can save you up to half the ticket price depending on which amusement park you are planning to visit.
You can save money by taking advantage of bonus offers from advertisers; some plans call for you to bring in soft drink cans or labels from certain nationally known snack packages to receive discounted tickets at the amusement park’s gates. A lot of people just consider this to be not the sort of thing they would participate in. If I am saving money at an amusement park, I will push my week’s groceries up to the gate in a shopping cart if that is what they require in order to let me save my money. These bonus offers always receive tremendous advertising, so just keep your eyes open.
Saving money at an amusement park is easy if you buy season passes. Now this is only working in your best interest if the amusement park is close and you will use it more than once. However for some families, they save so much money they make out like bandits on deals like this one. You recoup the money spent after two or three trips, so during the other trips you make it’s on the amusement park’s dime. Also remember to always check offers online….saving money at an amusement park happens all the time when you purchase those tickets at the website.
Perhaps one of the best ways of saving money at an amusement park is to not fall victim to amusement park foods and snacks. You know how much money they cost. Make sure that you have eaten before you head off on this adventure. That will lessen the likelihood that you will want to snack at the first eating place you run into. Save money by planning to take little snacks in your pocket or purse and you can always have a water bottle around your waist. The water bottle alone will save you much dinero. Some of the amusement parks have picnic facilities, and you will be able to bring a cooler of food and drinks to the park with you. When you consider the cost of a soft drink bought at an amusement park and the cost of bringing a six pack of the same soft drinks with you, you can easily understand how this one act can be responsible for saving money at an amusement park. When you multiply this savings per person it quickly adds up to big money staying in your pocket.

Erm… *working* at an amusement park sure makes it cheap to go there, too. Like… free. I even get guest passes in every other paycheck. And discounts.
Maybe try asking some gullible employee where the employee cafeteria is and how to sneak your way to it… Okay, might not work at other parks, but certainly works at the one I work at - just requires quite a bit of walking to get there, as obviously you wouldn’t be able to use the employee gate (which is right next to it).
Season pass holders tend to get a discount on purchases as well. Ours is 30%, if I remember correctly (jeez, been there 4 years, and I’m out of work for a week and can’t remember that). If not, it’s 15%.
Also, buying tickets at the grocery store is a lot cheaper than at the gate…. Good luck sneaking those snacks in, though.
