We all know the plight of the poor college students, no money, no food no girl.
Eager for a date but living off of beans is not the ideal road to a romantic date.
We care that our newly fledged college students are able to live a normal life, spread their wings and fulfil all their ambitions, even if it is only to date the gorgeous girl in the next row.
So how do these poor college students manage to afford to date?
Here’s how:
1. Happy hour was not just invented to get people into clubs and bars, its sole purpose must surely have been with the college student in mind. If you can afford to go out for a beer then take your date along too, just be prepared to drink whatever it is your date likes if it is a real BOGOF. (Buy One Get One Free) This will also apply to some restaurants, fast food outlets and supermarkets. Ok so you will have to cook for your date, but you can impress them with your culinary prowess. Also consider checking out the End of Shelf Life corner for tasty delights and little luxuries.
2. Boys, if your date is the clubbing type, it can be a drain on the college students’ pocket to pay entry for two, so arrange to meet your date inside at a specified time, but don’t be late and allow your date to be wooed away by another student. And Girls, take note, you are students too, if your new date plans to meet you inside the club beware, he is not about to be spending a lot on you.
3. If the weather is favorable, make arrangements to take your date to the park, don’t panic about the stale bread, just pretend you’d packed it to feed the ducks on the pond. Not only will the ducks be feeding out of your hand but you date will be too. If food really is on the menu refer to option 1, and carefully select the ingredients for a picnic.
4. If you live close to home, remember to make careful notes of when Mom and Dad are going out, the most resourceful college student should be able to get his date there and Moms larder is always well stocked.
5. Any college student with real potential will not want to waste their time on dates and dating. Check out the best looker on your course and study together in the dorm while feasting on shared fries and cola.
But seriously guys, college students really have a tough time when it comes to paying their way, studying and still dating. Happy hour is a real option if you want to go out, your date will no doubt be a college student too and understand the financial plight of students. Whether you are dating or not, make a point of shopping in the end of shelf section even if you have to go there every other day or so. Open up to you date if they are a student too, if you enjoy the same things you can afford to ‘buy two get one free’ and share your food as well as each other.
