The possibilities for cheap romantic date ideas are endless. Romance isn’t a location or a specific thing, it’s a feeling or thought combined with a little effort to create something amazing and exciting. Using sushi and a park like setting for example, one would find them both pretty ordinary on their own. But put them together and you’ve got a romantic picnic feeding each other sushi with maybe a nice bottle of wine and a blanket. Remember to use your imagination and think outside the box.
1) Your Favorite coffee shop - Coffee shops are always a great place to go and relax and just talk peacefully about everything and anything. Something about dim lighting, comfy chairs or sofas and calm music makes a coffee shop a great place for a romantic beginning.
2) County Fair or Carnival - Kids rides, popcorn, cotton candy and a chance to win a huge teddy bear. What else is there to say?
3) Picking Fruit at a local Orchard - Working side-by-side picking delicious fruit for consumption that evening.
4) Hot Tub - It’s a beautiful night, nobody is around and both of you are exhausted from a long workday. What better way to relax, chat and cuddle up then in a hot tub. If you don’t have a hot tub, you can also use a bath.
5) Walking the Dogs - If both parties have a dog, a nice casual walk down a nice scenic path could be considered romantic. Half way through the walk, have a rest on at a nearby bench and talk about each others day.
6) Building a Sandcastle at the beach - What better way to enjoy the water and the sun then by building a nice sandcastle. It’s always nice to act like kids every so often.
7) Stargazing - The night is calm, the skies are clear, you have hot chocolate in a thermos if the weather is cold and a bottle of wine on ice if the weather is warm. You look up at the sky hand in hand and try and talk about whatever comes to mind. By far one of the simplest but most romantic ideas of all time.
8 ) Watch 50 First Dates - What a great movie. It caters to both men and women and it’s romantic, sad and funny. If you haven’t seen it yet, I suggest you do.
9) A Bonfire - Due to municipality laws, this might not be possible to everybody. But an open pit fire is a great way to enjoy an evening. Roast some marshmallows or have some smores.
10) Share A Sundae - Make a nice big sunday together and spend the evening eating it. It’s fun, romantic and cheap.
11) Fondue - Chocolate or cheese, it doesn’t really matter. The word itself is sexy
12) Make Pizza Together - I here a lot of people tell me that nothing is more romantic than making dinner together. I find pizza is a great meal to make because it’s pretty simple and you can add whatever you want to it.
Seasonal
1) Building a Snowman Together - A winter date wouldn’t be a date without building a snowman. Hat and nose are optional but always a great touch. A snow fight is always a great added feature to any date.
3) Carving Pumpkins Halloween - Fun, competitive, romantic, cheap, gross, and so much more. Have a competition or make one together and enjoy the benefits of teamwork.
4) Coloring Eggs for Easter - Make each other a personalized egg.
