10 Cheap Date Night Ideas

Let’s face it, life is expensive but does that mean that date nights with your sweetie always has to break the bank? Don’t get me wrong I know there are dates that are going to kill the budget like birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions but does that Tuesday date night need to cost a fortune? No, it sure doesn’t. Here is a list of 10 cheap date night ideas that will leave the money in the bank but still bring you and your sweetie together.

1) Head somewhere where you can see the night sky and see what constellations’ you can recognize: Star gazing can be a fun way to enjoy time together without shelling out a ton of money. Take a blanket and lay on the grass, this can even be done in your own back yard to avoid paying for gas.

2) Walk around a playground or park while no one is around: Do you remember the joy of pushing or being pushed on the swings by your best friend when you were little? Your sweetie should be your best friend and guess what? The fun you had as a kid will be just the same 10, 20, 30+ years later.

3) Play an online game together: In the world of technology almost everyone is play some online game or another. Some are free to play while others cost $15-$20 for a monthly fee. If you and your sweetie are hardcore gamers and enjoy spending time in the virtual world together then investing the $30-$40 for two game accounts could mean several date nights gaming. If you only spend 5 nights a month gaming you will only be spending $6-$8 each date night. If that isn’t cheap I don’t know what is.

4) Offer to talk and give each other foot massages: Talking is the key to any relationship and if feet aren’t your thing offer a back massage instead.

5) Make a fire pit and talk by the fire: This is only if your allowed to by city code and of course by your parents if that applies. But a nice warm fire no matter what time of the day can be a great way for you and your sweetie to hang out. Grab a bag of marshmallows, graham crackers and chocolate for a taste s’mores treat.

6) Watch a scary movie together: $10 at the video store or better yet finding free ones on the TV with a bag of popcorn can make for a fun and snuggly cheap date night.

7) Go to the drive-in theater: The drive-in is a great way to usually see 2 movies for the price of one not to mention that it leaves a lot of room for cuddling in the car while you watch the movies.

Park your car somewhere secluded and listen to your favorite CD’s: Take a blanket to say the park or another out of the way place and listen to music as you watch the stars and spend time together. This can also be done in your backyard if you don’t want to waste the gas and have a stereo.

9) Make a pot of coffee and talk till the sun comes up: Conversation can be the best thing in the world. Put on some soft music in the background, pour 2 cups of coffee and discuss anything and everything. This is also something great to do at an all night dinner for about $10.

10) Go for a night swim: Do you have a pool in your backyard? If it is a warm summer night then toss on the bathing suits and jump on in!
